Guide to higher education in Ukraine

Ukrainian education has a long history of formation and development, and that’s why it is considered to be one of the best in the world. First higher educational institutions in Ukraine were established in 17th century and in that time attracted students from all over the world. Experienced teachers and professors, a great diversity of specialties, European standards of quality make Ukrainian education popular among students worldwide.

In 2005 Ukraine joined the Bologna process. The Bologna process positively influenced on integration of Ukrainian education to European Education Area.

The languages of instructions in Ukrainian higher institutions are Ukrainian, Russian or English. International students have opportunity to study in more than 240 higher establishments and gain the specialization in different scientific fields. Every year higher educational establishments welcome students from more than 150 countries.

Ukrainian higher educational institutions provide such levels of higher education:

First level: Junior Bachelor, Bachelor
Second level: Master
Third level: Doctor of Philosophy, Doctor of Science

Foreigners enroll to Higher Educational Institutions on accredited educational programs:

1) twice a year, before and at the beginning of the academic semester (until November 1 and until March 1accordingly) for the degrees – Junior Bachelor, Bachelor, Master;

2) during the year for postgraduate studies, doctoral studies, clinical studies, medical residency, program of the preparatory faculty (department) and the program of academic mobility.

Since 1997 the training of specialists at the University has been accredited by the state.
Since 2005 the University has been accredited at the IVth level (2005, 2009, 2013) and today has 74 certificates of accreditation in different disciplines and specialities.

Current status of licensing  and accreditation documents held by the University

The University holds as 84 licenses for all types of educational activities.
Among them:
    for  basic training - 59:
the training of specialists - 44 ( bachelors - 14 specialists - 12 masters - 18 );
retraining - 11;
to enhance professional development in accredited disciplines (specialities) - 1;
to prepare citizens of Ukraine for entry into institutions of higher education  - 1;
to prepare foreign students for entry into institutions of higher education - 1;
to train foreign nationals in accredited disciplines (specialities) - 14.
    In Kremenchug Institute - 25

the training of specialists -17 ( bachelors - 9; specialists - 8) ;
retraining - 6;
to enhance professional development in accredited disciplines (specialities) - 1;
to train foreign nationals in accredited disciplines (specialities) - 1.
