In 2004 - defended dissertation for obtaining a Doctor of Economics degree in speciality 08.06.01 Economics, organization and management of enterprises on the theme "Enterprise strategy in the conditions of uncertainty of the economic environment (methodological aspect)". Attestation Board of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, February 16, 2006, awarded the academic title of Professor of the Department of Management.

In 2002 - obtained second higher education in the field of Management of Organizations.

Research areas: monetary flow management in Ukraine's economy.

One of the main priorities of the Department of Management is to offer studies combined with research. The teaching staff carries out teaching and research and increase their professional level not only at a local scale but also on the international ground.

Apart from undergraduate learning opportunities the department offers postgraduate and postdoctoral studies.

The decree of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine № 389 of 8.04.2016 and the decision of the State Accreditation Commission (protocol No. 3/2 of 08 April 2016) have authorized the department to provide PhD training in 073 – Management.Postdoctoral studies (by the decision of the Academic Council, protocol № 5 of 30 June 2016) also include 073 – Management.

The work of the Examining Board 08.120.01 for PhD defence in Economics is characterized by:

  • 1 postdoctoral and 1 PhD theses defended by teaching staff and 1 postdoctoral and 1 PhD theses defended by researchers in the academic year 2016/2017.
  • 1 PhD thesis defended in 2017/18.

In 2018 there are 5 PhD students at the department (4 – full-time and 1 part-time).

In 2016 and in 2018 3 students took part in Erasmus+ with Kozminski University and University of Rzeszów.

2 students took part in UBB-FSEGA International Summer School 2017 organized by Universitatea Babes-Bolyai, Cluj-Napoca.

6 students took part in the International Summer School 2018: Logistics&Marketing.

During 2017-2018, the department held 6 meetings of the students club “Manager”.

Students take part in the professional club “Formula of success” in which they attend workshops of practitioners and meetings with graduates (5 meetings were held).

The Department was founded in 1995 as the Department of Management and Marketing for teaching full-time students and part-time students of the major «Management of organizations» fundamental and professionally oriented disciplines.

In 2002 the Department of Management and Marketing was divided into the Department of Management and the Marketing Department to improve the level of training of students in connection with the reorganization of faculties of the university and changes in subordination of the departments.

In 2018 a research theme of the department is “Management and administration in the global and socio-economic challenges” (Assoc. Prof., Dr., G. Glukha).

Achievements of the department in the field of science for 2015-2018:

The research-to-practice conference “Modern management: trends, problems and development prospects” was held in 29 March 2017 and involved participants from Bulgaria, Poland, Ukraine and Czech Republic.

On 29 March 2018 the department held the “International research-to-practice conference “Modern management: trends, problems and development prospects” devoted to the 25-th anniversary of Alfred Nobel University, which was attended by 105 participants from Canada, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Ukraine.
