The Department of Information Technologies works with students, providing them with fundamental IT, mathematical and economic training.
The training takes place in lecture rooms that are newly equipped and follow programmes which meet modern world standards. The classes are conducted with the use of progressive information technologies.
The department is located in the University’s Centre for Modern Information Technologies. There are six computer labs equipped with computers having the necessary software, which is used for laboratory and practical training, consultation, testing and students' independent work.
The Centre’s rooms for specialised disciplines have multimedia equipment, which is effectively used during the lectures and practical training.
The subjects taught by the department are supported in full with teaching materials, textbooks, lecture notes, which are available to students through electronic media..
The teachers pursue the following goals and objectives while teaching fundamental disciplines:
- to familiarize students with the fundamentals of computer science;
- to develop skills of mathematical research for practical tasks;
- to develop skills of using mathematical models;
- to provide students with the latest computer technologies and packages of applied programmes used in empirical economic research;
- to provide mathematical and information training and knowledge necessary for further study of professional disciplines.
