Completion of the “Career Booster” COIL Project

The extensive four-week virtual exchange project, “Career Booster,” has officially concluded, bringing together over 110 participants worldwide. For 14 students at Alfred Nobel University, this project, initiated by the Department of Foreign languages, was an integral part of their Foreign Language for Business course.

Throughout the month, future managers, marketers, and specialists in international economic relations and tourism worked in synergy with peers from the USA, Poland, and Croatia. The journey took them from analysing global CV standards to simulating real-world job interviews in a global environment.

Key Results and Project Insights:

  • Global CV Standards: Students explored cultural nuances in resume writing, contrasting the concise American approach (no photo) with European standards, where visual elements and personal data remain significant.
  • The Art of Self-Presentation: Participants mastered the art of “selling” their achievements using concrete facts and figures, adapting their communication style to meet the demands of the international labour market.
  • English as a Professional Tool: A series of Zoom meetings allowed students to overcome language barriers. English transformed from a mere academic subject into a practical tool for professional interaction and mutual understanding.
  • Cross-Cultural Networking: The project balanced cultural exchanges about national traditions with serious discussions on LinkedIn job-search strategies, proving that digital education transcends thousands of miles.

Our students finished the project with updated, internationally-standardized resumes and a profound realization: there are no borders for a true professional. We extend our sincere gratitude to our international partners for this incredible experience!
