The Office actively cooperates with international partners and recruitment agents, ensuring transparent and efficient communication with prospective students. Our goal is to make admission and study at the University as smooth, convenient, and comfortable as possible for international students.
We recommend preparing for your departure very carefully and well in advance, as completing all required documents takes time and effort. Before departure: obtain a Ukrainian visa (type D13 or “student visa”). For additional information, please contact the Embassy or Consulate of Ukraine in your country. Make sure to bring all important documents with you. Your secondary school certificate or diploma must be legalised or apostilled in accordance with Ukrainian legislation.
A representative of the International Students Office will meet you at the border of Ukraine.
Applicants may enter Ukraine with a valid passport and a student visa. A short-term visa allows staying in Ukraine for up to 3 months. To extend legal stay, it is necessary to apply for a Temporary Residence Permit (“Residence Card”).
All international students must have medical insurance for the entire period of their stay.
ANU offers accommodation in a dormitory with all necessary facilities: furniture, a shared kitchen on each floor, laundry, playground, and recreation areas. Double and triple rooms are available. The approximate cost is UAH 3,500–5,000 per month.

A student receives an individual D13 visa only. Family members may apply for a tourist visa separately.
After receiving the official invitation letter from ANU, you should apply for a D13 student visa at the Embassy or Consulate of Ukraine in your country.

Yes, ANU has a preparatory department that offers the “Foundation” programme.
General education subjects: Ukrainian language for foreigners, English language for foreigners, Mathematics, Informatics or other subjects chosen by the applicant. Business Economics and Cultural Studies are also included.

Yes, it is possible for valid reasons such as medical conditions, participation in academic mobility programmes, family circumstances, and other justified reasons.
A student is admitted to the final examination provided that they have fully completed the curriculum of the relevant educational and professional programme.
A transfer is possible if the study programmes differ by no more than 20 ECTS credits. Additional requirements can be clarified upon request at the Centre for International Students: [email protected].
Yes, tuition fees can be paid in two instalments per academic year.
The theoretical part is conducted at the university, while practical training takes place at designated practice bases (organisations and institutions).
A D13 student visa allows you to study but does not permit legal employment in Ukraine.
If you lose your residence permit, please contact the police and the ANU Centre for International Students immediately.

Winter: from −15°C to +8°C; Summer: 18–25°C, occasionally up to 35°C. We recommend clothing suitable for all weather conditions, especially waterproof and windproof items for autumn and winter.
The official currency is the Ukrainian Hryvnia (UAH). Currency exchange is safest at banks.
