In the context of Ukraine’s integration into the world educational space, the higher education institutions should provide high-quality services in the field of higher education that meet international standards.

In July 2021, the Commission for International Affairs of ZEvA — Central Evaluation and Accreditation Agency (Germany), decided on the international accreditation of 14 bachelor’s and 16 master’s study programmes of Alfred Nobel University, which confirmed the full compliance of the quality, content, methods and technologies of teaching with international quality standards of higher education.

Alfred Nobel University is the first and only university in Ukraine, which for the second time successfully get international accreditation of all bachelor’s and master’s study programmes and confirmed the high quality of teaching at the level of European requirements.

Our choice in favour of the German agency ZEvA was due primarily to its high prestige in the European academic space. ZEvA is one of the founders and a member of the European Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA) and the European Consortium for Accreditation in Higher Education (ECA). The agency is also included in the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR). The agency has extensive experience in working with higher education institutions of the EU and other European countries, as well as Asia and Africa.

The evaluation methods and criteria used by ZEvA are based on all-European Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ESG), which have also become widespread in higher education institutions outside Europe. Thus, the agency’s policy is to monitor compliance with existing internationally recognized standards.

The external evaluation took place during 4 online visits of ZEvA expert panels consisting of 4-6 people representing German higher education institutions: Osnabrück University, University of Heidelberg, University of Munich, Free University of Berlin, Mittelhessen University of Applied Sciences, Ludwigshafen University of Applied Sciences, Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences, University of Applied Sciences in Bad Honnef, Ilmenau University of Technology, and the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia).

The expert panels also included representatives of the non-academic sector and students.

The experts had carefully analysed the materials of the self-evaluation report presented by the University, namely: university development strategy, content of teaching and learning of all study programmes, research and teaching staff, types of cooperation — international, research, academic, business, etc., general goals and future prospects, infrastructure and equipment, organizational and managerial aspects, quality assurance system. Learning outcomes, study programmes and curricula, content, teaching methods, advisory services and special counselling centres for students, planning and organization of exams, employment market for graduates, lecturers’ professional development, student, research and teaching staff mobility, internationalization were also evaluated in detail.

Accreditation, granted by the experienced and well-known agency ZEvA, indicate the competitive advantage of Alfred Nobel University in the market of higher education. And the recommendations of qualified experts will determine the strategic goals and directions of further development of the University on the path of integration into the European educational space.
