Doctoral (PhD) Programmes for International Applicants

Specific Features of Admission to Doctoral (PhD) Programmes for International Applicants

International applicants are admitted to doctoral (PhD) programmes on a fee-paying basis, funded by individuals and/or legal entities, to accredited specialties (educational and research programmes).

Entrance Examinations for International Applicants

The entrance examinations for admission to doctoral studies include:

  • an examination in the Ukrainian language;
  • an examination in the English language;
  • an examination in the chosen specialty;
  • a presentation of research proposals or research achievements, if available.

Entrance examinations for international applicants are conducted after the preliminary submission of documents through the Unified Interdepartmental Information System and their registration in the Unified State Electronic Database on Education (EDEBO), according to a separate examination schedule.

The results of the entrance examinations are announced to the applicant on the following day.

Research Proposal / Research Achievements Presentation

The entrance examination in the form of a presentation of research proposals or achievements consists of an oral presentation and discussion of a research abstract.

The research proposal or research achievements abstract must:

  • be 4–5 A4 pages in length;
  • be submitted to the subject examination committee on the day of the examination.

The results of the entrance examination for the presentation of research proposals or achievements are announced to the applicant immediately after the oral presentation.
