Launch of the “Career Booster” International Project: the Department of Foreign Languages Expands Professional Training Horizons
The Department of Foreign Languages at Alfred Nobel University has initiated a new large-scale COIL project titled “Career Booster”. This project is integrated into the Business English course for 3rd-year students majoring in Management, Marketing, International Economic Relations, and Tourism.
The project boasts an impressive scale, featuring over 110 participants from 5 universities across the USA, Poland, Croatia, and Ukraine. Sixteen students from Alfred Nobel University are participating, ready to showcase their skills in a global academic environment.
The primary goal of “Career Booster” is to enable students to develop their “Professional Persona” for job application purposes within a global context. During four weeks, participants will:
- Collaborate in multicultural teams with peers from Europe and the USA
- Engage in four structured Zoom meetings with their international team members
- Simulate professional interviews with experts from different cultural backgrounds
- Compare and analyse cultural similarities and differences in job search processes and career documentation.
Special emphasis is placed on developing the ability to observe and adapt to diverse communication styles. This “Career Booster” assignment serves as an overarching project that provides students with authentic scenarios to practice negotiation, conflict management, and constructive feedback in English.
We wish our students productive collaboration and a successful start to their international career journeys!
