Успішне завершення COIL проєкту «Глобальні виклики: минуле, сьогодення та майбутнє» з Університетом імені Адама Міцкевича в Познані

Our students from Alfred Nobel University have recently completed an incredible English-language COIL project titled “Global Challenges: Past, Present, and Future”!

From March 17 to May 9, 2025, 22 of our students majoring in Marketing, Management, International Economic Relations, and Tourism worked in teams with 16 Polish students from Adam Mickiewicz University. Led by an international team of instructors (Svitlana Medynska, Veronika Haidar, and Giuseppe Raffaeli), the project aimed to foster critical and informed discussion of common aspects of Polish and Ukrainian societies.

The results were truly inspiring! Students deeply immersed themselves in various topics related to work, education, and employment opportunities, the impact of social networks, women’s rights, social trauma, political tensions, and attitudes toward animals, comparing the experiences of Poland and Ukraine. Their enthusiasm and spirit of cooperation were evident in the incredible depth of their research and argumentation.

Among the aspects participants highlighted as most positive were: “new acquaintances, warm friendly atmosphere, instructor support, freedom to choose topics,” “the opportunity to meet new people and work in a team where everyone has a different perspective on the project,” “the concept, the idea of this project,” “the opportunity to exchange thoughts and views with other students, from another country, to create a joint project with all our ideas,” “interesting topics chosen by the participants,” and much more.

Despite certain challenges, such as coordination and time limitations, participants successfully learned to find compromises and adapt their communication style. As one project participant from Poland noted: “I learned the importance of adapting my communication style, being patient, and appreciating different cultural perspectives to work successfully in a diverse team.”

This COIL project has become a vivid example of successful international collaboration and a significant step in developing our students’ intercultural competence, preparing them for the challenges of the globalized world.
