We prepare students for professional tourism activities. Our students are well-rounded people. TEACHERS AND TECHNOLOGIES OF TEACHING

The programme "Tourism" is taught by highly skilled, experienced teachers – Doctors and Candidates of Sciences having professional education and wide practical experience.

The educational process comprises the programmes that meet modern world and domestic requirements, international standards, and employ the latest teaching techniques in classrooms with modern equipment.

Students acquire the practical skills of using modern information technologies in the field of tourism in computer classes with access to the global Internet and the software complex "Overia-Tourism"- students receive the appropriate certificate upon mastering this programme.

In order to ensure a practical training base at the University, an educational and consulting centre for tourism, local lore studies and excursions has been established, where students additionally receive certificates for their professional activities.

The Department has a registered theme in UkrISTEI Optimization of Teaching a Language to Non-Language Departments’ Students within the interdepartmental research theme Linguistic Aspects of Foreign Language Communication and Teaching Methods (state registration number: 0110U000323), which fully reflects the academic and research direction of the department, connected with the development of new methods of teaching English for special purposes. The main forms and means of implementation are both theoretical and experimental researches conducted directly within the learning process. To advance the academic achievements of the Department, the lecturers publish articles according to their own research interests, grounded in their own work, and participate in academic, research and international conferences held in Ukraine and abroad. The Foreign Language Department participates in seminars and symposia devoted to innovative language teaching methods. Last academic year lecturers of the Foreign Language Department published 24 professional articles, five books and 25 abstracts in collected articles of international and national scientific conferences published in Ukraine and abroad. Lecturers of the Department participated in more than 20 academic and professional conferences, seminars and round table discussions. 126 students participated in academic conferences under the supervision of the Department’s lecturers.

The results of lecturers’ academic work are realized through their academic and methodological publications. Among these is a series of training manuals in Business English “State Examination in English: How to Succeed?” in 7 parts intended for students of economic directions of training and the guide to business writing «Business Letter Writing" written by S.P. Kozhushko and I.G. Baranova.
